Silk Occasions was launched in 2016, mainly focussing on Wedding flowers but over the years silk flowers have become more and more popular, and understandably so.

We only use the very best, high quality materials for the creation of our designs.

Founder

My journey to become a florist began with the excitement and joy of visiting my grandfather’s rose garden in Cambridgeshire as a young girl.

The heady aroma that would fill the air with sweet perfumes had everyone stopping to look. I remember the joy of being handed some to arrange in a vase for my room. Some of the highlights from my childhood were spending time with family in the garden being shown how to plant and care for the flowers.

Following a very different career as a nurse I still yearned to be surrounded by flowers not just in the garden but to be able to work with them. I decided to work with silk flowers and greenery, designing and creating beautiful bouquets, Christmas garlands and wreaths. I took a course in fresh flower design and was delighted to receive my first wedding booking soon after. Since 2010 or maybe even earlier, I have been designing and delivering quality affordable flower arrangements and bouquets for over 1500 people, from weddings to celebrations the flowers I arrange have helped towards making those days very special events. Ive been asked so many times if I could put together a bouquet for friends birthdays and anniversaries, I am now happy to say that we can offer flower arrangements and bouquets for the home too.
